Glen Ogle

Glen Ogle

Another reel from Kerr’s First Collection of Merry Melodies, c1875. According to Flowers of Scottish Melody (John Murdoch Henderson, 1935), the tune was composed by Donald Grant (c1769 – c1839) and was originally titled Mrs Johnston.

Glen Ogle is in Stirlingshire. If you were to draw a line from Perth to Oban, Glen Ogle is at about the midway point.
